Gabriele Rodriquez - 1960

Gabriele Rodriquez - 1960
He lives in Verona with his wife and 3 children. Lecturer in business matters until 1997. He has practiced the profession of Chartered Accountant since 1990. Lent to photography since 1977, this has become an activity that gradually turned out to be more than a passion, more than a simple hobby. Photography has probably filled an area of one's cultural life that the studies followed have only touched upon. To his credit the publication of 50 books, from reportage to the most extreme MobileArt. Lover of reportage in general and travel in particular, since 2015 he has dedicated himself to creative photography known as "MobileArt".
The use of the smartphone, due to the fact that it is always with us and its ease of use, allows you to record images in different times and places and in an immediate way, forming a database that can be used when needed.
As part of a broad design that often ends with a publication, the images recorded in this way are subsequently reworked with particular Apps on tablets or smartphones. The instrument, together with the capacitive pen or the "gesture" of the fingers, thus becomes a digital canvas on which to slide one's own fantasies or inner ghosts, like visual obsessions that are transformed into creations that, compared to the starting image, have little to share. The superimposition of these with other images, often drawn from the visual art of all times, allows for virtual collages, which are both a homage to the past and a search for the new in terms of both a personal message and a reinterpretation of the works depicted.
<< There is much debate as to whether the final product is still attributable to photography, it is true that the starting point is always a shot purchased from a photographic sensor. Personally I consider MobileArt the correspondent of the avant-garde of photography, a clear departure from the figurative photography of the last century, for the rest it is right that everyone gives their own reading as has always happened in the field of art with respect to its avant-gardes. >>
As written by Giancarlo Beltrame, art and film critic, in a preface to one of the books presented by the author: ... "Gabriele, no longer limited by the need to reproduce reality that every camera ontologically contains within itself, has started to explore new territories of the image and the imagination, always starting from a photographic shot. They become patrols that inevitably lead to inner spaces. Those areas where memories are deposited, dreams are stratified and fantasies and obsessions are unleashed.".

In 2022 he began working with the production of "AI" works developed within a large project entitled "ANTHROPOS" which sees the human figure at the center of the entire creative path.
Most of my works are subsequently organized and published in eBooks on dedicated platforms (40 eBooks published to date). I keep an archive that is starting to be full of FineArt prints in sheets of various sizes on cotton paper or, depending on the project, printed on Polaroid or Fuji Instax support.
The latest works in the ANTHROPOS series are printed on large canvas and subsequently painted with acrylic, watercolor and ink to give matter and further elements of recognition and uniqueness.
